UNDERSTAND YOUR OPTIONS

A clear place to begin.

01

After eligible UK study

Applicants must be in the UK with Student or Tier 4 permission, have completed an eligible course and have their successful completion reported to the Home Office by their education provider.

02

Apply before Student permission expires

You do not have to wait for the graduation ceremony or certificate once the provider has reported completion. Confirm the report with the institution and check the official process.

03

Duration depends on when you apply

For non-doctoral graduates, applications made on or before 31 December 2026 receive 2 years. Applications from 1 January 2027 receive 18 months. Doctoral graduates receive 3 years.

04

Plan the next stage

The Graduate visa cannot be extended. It allows most work and job seeking, but does not itself lead directly to settlement. A future switch requires eligibility for the destination route.
