Healthcare assistant recruitment

Everyday care.
Extraordinary attention.

Care assistants bring consistency, observation and a personal connection to everyday support. We start with the person, the setting and the responsibilities of the role.

The conversation starts here

A role is more
than a title.

A useful HCA brief describes much more than the number of people needed. It explains the environment, the people receiving support and the experience a worker needs to contribute confidently. CMB welcomes healthcare assistant recruitment enquiries from care and nursing homes, clinical services and community settings.

For candidates, we want to understand your recent care experience, preferred locations and working patterns. Tell us about the tasks you have been trained and assessed to carry out, the settings you know and any support you need when joining a new team.

Details that make the difference

Better information.
Better conversations.

For professionals

Bring your experience.

  • Relevant experience

Describe the care settings you have worked in and the responsibilities you have held. Use clear examples without including information that identifies a person receiving care.

  • Competencies and training

Tell us about your current training and practical assessments. A course certificate alone does not establish competence for every task or environment.

  • A realistic working pattern

Share your availability, travel range and notice requirements so that a proposed assignment can be discussed on a realistic basis.

Introduce yourself

For care providers

Define your requirement.

  • The care environment

State the type of service, shift pattern and the support needs relevant to the role. Avoid sending residents’ names or clinical records in a staffing enquiry.

  • The scope of the role

Identify required experience, task boundaries, supervision and induction. Explain which duties require an additional assessment or authorisation.

  • A clear start and finish

Confirm who will welcome the worker, explain handover and approve the completed timesheet. Agree any breaks and the reporting route for concerns.

Start a staffing enquiry

From first conversation to next steps

Clear at every stage.

01

Start with the brief

Share the role, setting, experience and working pattern you want to discuss.

02

Consider the details

Review suitability, relevant checks, training and any local requirements.

03

Agree the assignment

Confirm the location, responsibilities, hours and terms before work starts.

04

Keep the record clear

Use the agreed route for completed hours, approvals and follow-up questions.

Staffing and candidate enquiries are considered individually. A registration or request does not confirm a vacancy, an available worker or a booked shift. Portal workflows require an approved, active account.

Your questions

Good to know.

Can I register without a current vacancy?

Yes. Our HCA page is a talent-pool introduction. A registration is an expression of interest; any specific vacancy, location, rate or shift is confirmed separately.

Will all care assistant roles have the same duties?

No. Responsibilities depend on the service, the individual care arrangements and the worker’s assessed competence. The assignment brief should make those boundaries clear.

How do I start a staffing enquiry?

Send the service type, location, dates, shift times and essential experience through the employer enquiry form. Our team can then discuss the requirement and next steps.
