Clear expectations

A good shift starts
with clear communication.

Practical guidance for using CMB Connect alongside your agreed recruitment, employment and client booking terms.

This page explains the portal process. Your agreed assignment, employment and client booking terms govern notice, pay, charges and any cancellation consequences. It does not introduce a new penalty, deduction or guaranteed payment schedule.

Account access & professional checks

Use your own verified account and keep your password and email sign-in code private. CMB approves access and confirms the organisation or professional role linked to your account. Portal access is not, by itself, confirmation of employment, professional registration, clearance or a booking.

Tell CMB promptly if relevant registration, right-to-work status, training, availability or placement requirements change. Site-specific checks and secure-setting clearance must be confirmed for the individual assignment.

Requesting & confirming shifts

Clients submit the staffing brief, location, dates, times and break arrangements. CMB reviews the request and confirms the relevant rates and terms. Staff can request suitable published shifts. A request becomes a booking only when CMB confirms it.

Check the full booking details before attendance: dates, UK local times, role, site, contact, break, rate and agreed requirements. Never assume a portal request guarantees a placement or replacement cover.

Attendance & urgent changes

Arrive as agreed and follow the site’s handover and escalation procedures. If you are delayed or cannot attend, contact CMB promptly and use the site contact agreed for that assignment.

The office telephone is 07551 475146. Published office hours are Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. Before an out-of-hours assignment, confirm the escalation arrangements with CMB and the client.

Cancellation requests

Submit a reason in the portal and contact CMB as soon as you become aware of a change. If the shift is starting soon, has already started or cover is at risk, use the agreed telephone and site escalation process as well.

A cancellation request does not automatically release staff or cancel a client booking. CMB records the decision and coordinates the next step. Staff must not leave a care setting without following the site’s safe handover and escalation arrangements.

No blanket cancellation charge, automatic wage deduction or notice window is created by this website. CMB will refer to the applicable agreed terms and circumstances when resolving a request.

Completing & signing timesheets

After the shift, staff enter the actual start and finish dates and times, the unpaid break taken and any relevant hours note. Do not include patient information. The portal calculates worked hours and records the staff account name and submission time with the declaration.

An authorised client account reviews the hours and either approves them or returns them with an explanation. Approved records are locked for finance review. Disputed hours and later corrections should be raised as a timesheet query with the shift reference.

Client approval confirms the hours entered. It is not confirmation that payroll has run or that payment has reached a bank account.

Finance & payment questions

Agreed pay cycles, cut-offs, rates, deductions and invoice terms are handled through CMB’s relevant written arrangements. Portal estimates are based on approved hours and hourly rates; they are not payslips, issued invoices or tax calculations.

For a query, include the shift or timesheet reference and explain what needs checking. Do not share bank details, card details, National Insurance numbers or payslips in a portal message.

Training & information handling

Use the provider link assigned for your role. Staff declarations of course completion are reviewed separately against evidence. No external learning-provider affiliation is implied.

Keep portal entries relevant to bookings and employment administration. Patient records, clinical incidents requiring urgent escalation, identity documents and sensitive personal information must follow the separately agreed secure process.

Read our privacy information and contact CMB if any record needs correcting.
