Senior care assistant recruitment

Experience that guides.
Care that connects.

Senior care roles combine hands-on support with additional responsibility. The right conversation makes the expectations, limits and support arrangements clear.

The conversation starts here

A role is more
than a title.

CMB welcomes senior care assistants who can describe their experience with confidence and care providers with a clear staffing requirement. We focus the discussion on the responsibilities of the actual assignment, rather than relying on a job title.

A senior role may include coordinating colleagues, supporting handover or other responsibilities agreed by the service. Duties vary. Where medication-related tasks are involved, the provider needs to establish the relevant training, assessed competence and local authorisation; a senior title alone does not confirm suitability.

Details that make the difference

Better information.
Better conversations.

For professionals

Bring your experience.

  • Recent senior experience

Describe the services in which you have worked, the responsibilities you held and the support available to you.

  • Leadership in practice

Give examples of communication, delegation within your role and professional handover. Explain how you ask for help when an issue goes beyond your authority.

  • Competence and boundaries

Identify the duties you are trained and assessed to carry out. Tell us about any local assessment or supervision you would need in a new service.

Introduce yourself

For care providers

Define your requirement.

  • The senior role in your service

Set out the expected responsibilities, team structure and who remains accountable for operational and clinical decisions.

  • Task-specific requirements

Explain the qualifications, recent experience and assessments relevant to the assignment. Avoid assuming another employer’s sign-off transfers automatically.

  • Induction and escalation

Confirm who will brief the worker, authorise duties and provide support throughout the shift, including out-of-hours arrangements.

Start a staffing enquiry

From first conversation to next steps

Clear at every stage.

01

Start with the brief

Share the role, setting, experience and working pattern you want to discuss.

02

Consider the details

Review suitability, relevant checks, training and any local requirements.

03

Agree the assignment

Confirm the location, responsibilities, hours and terms before work starts.

04

Keep the record clear

Use the agreed route for completed hours, approvals and follow-up questions.

Staffing and candidate enquiries are considered individually. A registration or request does not confirm a vacancy, an available worker or a booked shift. Portal workflows require an approved, active account.

Your questions

Good to know.

Does senior care experience guarantee suitability?

No. The specific service, duties, training and current competencies need to be considered. Local induction and authorisation may also be required.

Can I register interest in progressing to a senior role?

Yes. Be clear about your current responsibilities and development goals. Registration does not guarantee a senior assignment or replace required experience and assessment.

Where are agreed hours recorded?

Once portal access and a booking are confirmed, completed hours can be submitted through the staff timesheet workflow and reviewed by the authorised client account.
